Baule standing male figure from the Ivory Coast, West Africa, carved from a dingle piece of wood with antique wooden box as,a stable base. These Baule figures are significant in their culture, often representing spiritual spouses (Blolo Bla or Blolo Bian) or embodying a bush spirit (Asie Usu). They are typically characterized by an upright posture, detailed facial features, elaborate hairstyles, and traditional scarifications. Baule figures are used for ritualistic purposes and are believed to bring blessings or insights from the spirit world.
